Efficiency North is a member-led consortium of social housing landlords established in 2006, focused on efficient procurement, adding social value, environmental sustainability, and economic regeneration in Northern England. Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, it comprises EN:Procure for procurement services and EN:Communities for community support through the Community Foundation Fund. The organisation also established EN:Able Build in 2018 to accelerate affordable new-build housing schemes and EN:Able Futures for apprenticeship services.

Through EN:Procure, Efficiency North offers intelligent procurement solutions covering new build, repairs, refurbishment, compliance, and retrofit for social housing providers. They facilitate collaboration, benchmark best practices, and generate efficiencies through streamlined processes and advanced systems. EN:Communities provides small grants to support charities and groups reducing poverty and promoting healthy living in their served communities.

Efficiency North's ESG strategy is built on its values and aligns with Constructing the Gold Standards, aiming to tackle waste, secure value for money, reduce inflationary impacts, and drive innovation towards net zero. Contractors are required to deliver ESG units based on contract spend, contributing to social, economic, and environmental benefits, with social value outcomes measured through the National TOMS system.
