Canary Riverside

Canary Riverside is a premier residential and commercial development situated on the banks of the Thames in Canary Wharf, London. Completed in 2000, the estate features 280 private residential apartments across four buildings, alongside 45 rental apartments, the Canary Riverside Plaza hotel, a Virgin Active health club, and several river-front restaurants. The Residents' Association of Canary Riverside (RACR), formed in 2013, serves as an independent association for residential leaseholders.

RACR provides information and practical advice through its website, keeping residents updated on planning applications and other issues affecting their homes. Since October 2016, Canary Riverside has been under independent management, with Parkgate Aspen providing day-to-day estate management services. The estate is well-connected, with Jubilee and Elizabeth line stations at Canary Wharf less than a 10-minute walk away, offering access to central London and beyond.

The DLR is also a five-minute walk, providing easy access to the City and Greenwich. Additionally, the Thames Clippers river boat service operates from Canary Wharf Pier, located on the doorstep, and London City Airport is a 20-minute taxi ride away. Canary Riverside has been involved in significant legal and insurance matters, notably a case that alerted the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to poor remuneration practices in buildings insurance.

The FTT ruled that substantial commissions paid to a landlord-related company were not payable by leaseholders, a decision widely reported in the insurance and financial press.
