The client wished for a storage solution for their upstairs landing. The bespoke design needed to 'fit' with the 16th Century beams yet bring a modern and stylish presence. WoodWish designed, manufactured, installed and finished the cabinetry. Dadoed MDF panels, a Kerf-Bent Skirting Board, classic Shaker style soft-close doors and a Solid Oak surface were finished in Shetland Sweater Eggshell and Rubio Monocoat Pure.
The client wished for a truly innovative built-in complete with Oak Window Seat, Bookshelves, Drawers, Cupboards and Desks. WoodWish designed, manufactured, installed and finished the perfect solution - with bespoke Solid Oak surfaces, LED strip lighting, sliding pivot doors for the desks and soft-close units throughout. Finished in a flawless Sultry Bay Eggshell.
The client wished for a truly bespoke wine and spirits rack and cabinet. Inspired by the Arts & Crafts Movement, WoodWish designed and built a one-off case on legs with exposed joinery in Ash showcasing through tenon and dovetail details. The Kumiko Walnut doors (198 pieces per door) in their Birdseye Maple frames alongside the curved stretchers add a touch of Japanese class.
The client wished for a practical and contemporary shoe storage solution for their hallway. WoodWish manufactured a six foot sideboard with two expansive shoe shelves, two push to open and close drawer units and two sliding door cupboards. The piece is built from solid Ash hardwood and employs multiple joinery techniques - mitres, dovetails, rabbets, dados and tenons.
The client wished for an understairs shoe and coat storage solution to tie in with their existing window and waist high cupboard. WoodWish designed, manufactured and installed two MR MDF and Beech Plywood push to open and close drawer units using high quality Blum hardware, and a full-height cupboard with a bi-fold door and hanging rail.
The client wished for a contemporary and practical Office Suite. WoodWish designed, manufactured, installed and finished a freestanding Beech Plywood Bookcase alongside a Beech Plywood Desk, with large capacity soft-close Drawer and Floating Shelves. A combination of mitre joints and dadoes (housing grooves) allowed us to 'show off' the plywood edges. Finished in Rubio MonoCoat Pure.
The client wished for a flexible hallway storage solution. WoodWish designed, manufactured, installed and finished multiple cabinets in English Oak, MR MDF and Poplar. We installed an array of cupboards, flexible shelving options and a solid wood bench all finished in Rubio MonoCoat Dark Oak and Farrow & Ball-matched Johnstone's emulsion.
It's great to sharpen your skills and for this beauty I had the privilege of being instructed by Ian Parker @ianparkerstudio - an outstanding and multi-award-winning artist, designer, fine furniture maker and teacher. A truly flawless result achieved by a combination of traditional methods, laminating Poplar, veneering Masur Birch & London Plane, and a lot of patience, love and focus. Thank you Ian, so much.
The client wished for a practical utility room storage solution. WoodWish designed, manufactured, installed and finished cabinets in MR MDF and Poplar. Two tall cupboards and an under-sink cupboard hid the boiler from view and provided excellent storage spaces. Finished in Farrow & Ball-matched Johnstone's emulsion.
The client wished for a practical, sturdy and contemporary desk for their son's bedroom. We designed the desk in solid Oak using various joinery techniques: lap joints; mortice & tenons; square and angled through-dovetails. Finished in Rubio Monocoat Super White.
The client wished to renovate their Utility Room by hiding a washing machine, boiler, water and gas pipes. WoodWish designed, manufactured and installed Poplar, MDF and Birch Plywood cabinetry to match the one existing cupboard. Finished with a granite countertop and Crown Emulsion.
The client wished for a bespoke wine storage centrepiece. WoodWish designed, manufactured and installed an English Oak and Glass wall, complete with bifold door and hands-free drawer storage to make best use of all space available. Lap-Joint and Mortice & Tenon joinery, finished in Danish Oil.
