Founded in Nottingham over 150 years ago, Thomas Bow City Asphalt is a leading civil engineering and building contractor in the East Midlands. Today, six generations later, the company has evolved into a limited company headed by Alistair Bow. The Thomas Bow City Asphalt Group was born from the 2010 rebranding of Thomas Bow and City Asphalt Ltd, following five years of combined working. This union has made us a major player in the highways maintenance arena, benefiting from an array of accreditations and affiliations including CECA, Constructionline at gold level, BS EN ISO 9001:2015, BS EN ISO 14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and NHSS 16 and 30.

Our focus has predominantly been on providing civil engineering services to the public and commercial sectors, and we continue to develop strong partnerships with Local Authorities, delivering quality highway infrastructure solutions across the UK. Breedon Bow Highways Ltd (BBH) is a joint venture between Breedon Trading Limited and Thomas Bow Ltd, formed in support of the Highways England Pavement Framework covering the Midlands and Eastern England.
