Technical Surfaces pioneered the understanding that artificial sports surfaces require ongoing maintenance, challenging the industry norm of 'maintenance-free' in the mid-1990s. Their first maintenance visit was in August 1995. Over three decades later, through continuous education and testing, they have become the UK's largest synthetic pitch maintenance supplier, servicing over 1,350 artificial surfaces annually, equating to over 40 million square metres of work.

Their union with the Sportex Group in 2021 has further enhanced their capabilities, enabling significant investment and providing a complete lifecycle solution including new surface installations, resurfacing, and recycling. Operating nationwide from hubs in Leicester and Falkirk, Technical Surfaces offers a comprehensive range of services including maintenance contracts (MatchFit®), repairs and renewals, specialist cleaning, and detailed inspections and reporting. Their expertise covers a wide variety of artificial sports surfaces such as 3G and artificial turf pitches, athletics tracks, tarmac courts, and cricket surfaces.
