Stirling City Heritage Trust

Stirling City Heritage Trust was established in 2004 by Historic Environment Scotland in partnership with Stirling Council to deliver focused investment in the historic built environment of Stirling. The Trust's core mission is to promote and encourage the protection and preservation of the historic, architectural, and landscape heritage within the Stirling Council Area for the benefit of the public. The Trust operates a Traditional Buildings Health Check scheme, offering maintenance and repair advice and an impartial building inspection service to owners of traditional buildings.

They also provide grants for traditional repairs, support local education projects that promote an understanding of Stirling's heritage, and offer energy efficiency advice through their Retrofit Service. Their strategic objectives include investing in projects that contribute to economic regeneration, safeguarding the quality of the historic built environment, and identifying and supporting training in traditional building skills. With a dedicated team including a Trust Manager, Senior Grants & Outreach Officer, and technical specialists, the Trust engages in various outreach projects, such as Women in Construction events and dementia outreach programs.

They also publish reports and guides on Stirling's heritage, including a 20-year review of their work and reports on specific initiatives like the Traditional Buildings Health Check scheme and heritage interpretation for dementia.
