Brief: To refurbish and naturalise old curling pond. The pond has always been here, it has no liner and is naturally occurring, it had straight timber edges and utility bridges. Stage 1 involved major dredging of silt. Stage 2 included excavation and reshaping of the pond to a more natural form and excavation for new cascades. Stage 3 saw the construction of new cascades using mixed glacial boulders. Stage 4 included the installation of bridges, a large 11-metre high foaming jet fountain, and a floating island with built-in wild fowl accommodation. Stage 5 involved planting and commissioning with an annual maintenance programme.
