South Shields Marina is a new facility located on the South side of the River Tyne, within the old Brigham & Cowan Dock. The marina offers berths for leisure craft, with new pontoons nearing completion. They are ready to receive enquiries for berthing and are building a waiting list for places.
The marina can accommodate vessels ranging from under 6m up to a maximum of 10m, with limited availability for larger vessels. Security is a key feature, with significant CCTV surveillance, gated access, and regular patrols. Berth holders will have access to a 24-hour camera view of their vessel.
All vessels must be fully insured, including third-party liability cover. Berthing fees are charged per metre, with a minimum charge based on a 6m vessel. The fee includes the Port of Tyne Harbour Authority registration charge.
The marina is conveniently located only 2 miles from the harbour entrance, providing easy access to the Tyne Estuary and the coastline. Free on-site Wi-Fi is available for all berth holders.
