Scott & Co is an independent practice of Chartered Building Surveyors and Historic Building Professionals, established in 1997 by David and Dolly Scott. With a strong foundation in building surveying and conservation, the practice has evolved significantly, with Chris Hunter taking over as owner and managing director in March 2017. They focus on providing expert advice and services for a wide range of properties, including listed buildings and non-listed properties, for private and corporate clients, trusts, charities, and churches.

The practice offers a comprehensive service from inception to completion, including surveying, reporting on repairs, preparing detailed plans for planning permission and listed building consents, drawing up specifications, and administering projects on site. They pride themselves on working closely with clients to achieve optimal results within agreed budgets, often specialising in historic buildings with a philosophy of minimum intervention and informed conservation approaches. They also work with statutory bodies like Planning and Conservation Authorities, Historic England, Trusts, and Church Authorities, and are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.

They regularly update their professional knowledge and have been recognised for their leading role in conservation projects, with two projects winning the prestigious International RICS "Conservation Award". Their expertise extends to various building forms and structures, including offices, museums, country houses, terraces, churches, chapels, civic buildings, and ruins, with a particular focus on ecclesiastical work and heritage projects.
