R. Lindsay and Company have provided an unrivalled road surfacing service since 1947. They specialise in all forms of major and minor road construction and footpath work.

This includes bituminous macadam and asphalt, alongside the laying of paving slabs and drainage works for both Local Authorities and private sector clients. In 1991 the Company was purchased by the Glasgow-based Luddon Construction Group and in 1998 was purchased by Barclay Dougall Holdings Limited, which also includes James Strang Limited based in Denny and fellow Kirkcaldy-based company Legge Steel (Fabrications) Limited but R. Lindsay continues to operate separately from the other companies.

Whilst the new relationship with the group has enabled R. Lindsay and Company to develop its services, many of the staff have been with the company since its formation and thus, loyalty has been the main contributory factor in ensuring that every contract undertaken is brought to a satisfactory conclusion. This same enthusiasm has enabled them to develop a very successful track record, with an enviable reputation for quality and the completion of projects on, or ahead of time.
