A terraced patio that received an award from the Ilkley Civic Society for its consideration of surrounding architecture and quality of finish. Utilised Raj blend natural stone flags, sawn stone copings, aged walling stone, and steel estate railings.
The existing garden had a large sloped banking. Over 80 tonnes of spoil were removed to construct an engineered retaining wall clad with rough sawn treated timber. The main patio area was laid in natural stone grey paving stones, with an additional patio on the top terrace and a raised border also formed with natural stone paving stones, before preparing and seeding a new lawn area.
To bring character to an empty garden space of a new build home, porcelain pavers were laid for new patio areas and paths, edged with Saxon style red brick and decorative gravel. Raised borders were created that changed shape and height to break up uniform lines and allow for planting.
