ICT Papermill development

Deeside

O'Grady Construction delivered the groundworks and foundation package across seven factory process buildings for the ICT Papermill development in Deeside, a major industrial investment in North Wales and one of the most technically complex projects the company has undertaken. The project involved groundworks and foundation bases across seven distinct factory buildings, each with its own requirements and tolerances. For six buildings O'Grady carried out full excavation, reinforcement, backfilling, holding-down bolt setting and concreting, followed by internal drainage, services and stone grading to ±10mm tolerance. The seventh warehouse building required a substantial bulk muck-shift and grading across a 10,000m² footprint, plus large overhead gantry foundations constructed using a slide rail earthwork support system, one of the most technically demanding elements delivered on site. The project was completed on programme and to specification.

QE2 Dock, Ellesmere Port

Ellesmere Port

O'Grady Construction delivered the civil and groundworks package for this landmark green automotive hub at QE2 Dock, Ellesmere Port, designed to import vehicle parts by ship, eliminating approximately 14,700 lorry journeys per year from regional roads. The scope included some of the most technically demanding civil works O'Grady Construction has delivered, including new dock RoRo landing structures and the installation of a substantial 280,000-litre underground interceptor tank alongside an extensive channel drainage network across the new truck park.

Stone Business Park, Stafford

Stafford

O'Grady Construction delivered the full civil and groundworks package for this major logistics development at Stone Business Park, Stafford, one of Staffordshire's most significant industrial investments, projected to generate over 500 permanent jobs. This 365,000 sq ft logistics unit at Stone Business Park represents one of Staffordshire's largest recent industrial developments. A highlight of the scope was the installation of a 2,000m³ stormwater attenuation tank, one of the largest drainage installations O'Grady Construction has delivered. Early involvement enabled collaborative planning with the principal contractor to optimise the groundworks delivery sequence, keeping the project on programme throughout. The completed development is projected to generate over 500 permanent jobs for the Staffordshire region.
