Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management (NHFM) was established in January 2012 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Initially focused on building and operating 'hard' facilities management services at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, our operations have expanded to encompass all sites within the Trust's estate, delivering a comprehensive range of hard and soft facilities management services, alongside capital projects. Our core mission is to support the Trust's vision, mission, and values, ensuring that its patients, staff, and buildings are at the centre of everything we do.

We are also extending our services to other organisations that align with our values, while maintaining the Trust as our primary client. Our expertise spans a wide array of services, including Estates and Facilities Management, Capital Projects, Cleaning Services, Catering Services, and Interim Resourcing. We also offer Programme Management, Contract Management within Procurement, Compliance & Assurance, and Lifecycle & Asset Management.

Furthermore, our capabilities extend to Sustainability initiatives, Portering, Transport and Logistics, Authorised Engineering Services, IT Infrastructure, Medical Engineering, and Security Services. A key development is our Northumbria Healthcare Textile Manufacturing hub, which produces personal protective equipment (PPE) and offers services like soft furnishings reupholstery and embroidery, contributing to the local economy. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, aiming to transform traditional estates and facilities services into customer-centric solutions that exceed expectations.

Our approach ensures that clients, including their clinical colleagues and patients, can work and receive care in the best possible environment. We have a strong track record of project delivery, marked by significant milestones such as the opening of new hospitals, redevelopment projects, and the establishment of new divisions like IT Infrastructure.
