About from company website

Founded in 1972 by Mike Church, MJ Church began with cement mixers and evolved into a significant player in the plant hire industry. By 1974, MJ Church Plant was established, growing to a fleet of excavators by 1978. A major turning point came in the 1990s with contracts for the Second Severn Crossing and the Cardiff Bay Barrage, which involved hauling millions of tonnes of material and led to the company designing specialised lorries.

This experience propelled them into sea defence work and demonstrated their capability for large-scale logistics. The company's involvement in civil engineering deepened with the Cabot Circus project in Bristol in 2006, a significant excavation that marked a milestone in their capabilities. In 2011, the acquisition of MSA365 integrated advanced technology and machine telematics, positioning MJ Church as a technologically advanced contractor.

More recently, MJ Church secured a place on National Highways' Scheme Delivery Framework in 2019 and won its largest contract to date in 2021 for the A465 Heads of the Valleys Improvement Scheme.
