ABBEY COLLEGE, MANCHESTER

Manchester

This £250k scheme involved converting existing, adjacent retail space and amalgamating it with the original teaching areas to expand computer suites, office areas and the college's front reception. The project included new external glazing, new interior finishes and the upgrade/replacement of existing mechanical and electrical services. Delivered on a Design and Build basis.

D&T ROOMS, HANDSWORTH GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Converted 2 old classrooms into modern IT suites with a Victorian Engineering twist, drawing on West Midlands Industrial heritage to provide modern facilities with a historic design.

ORMISTON MERIDIAN ACADEMY

Conversion of an existing 1960's swimming pool into new dance and drama studios. An alternative solution for the pool infill enabled a 6-week saving on programme and a 10% reduction in the contract sum. Works also included redecoration of adjacent changing room facilities, upgrades to M&E installations and external works. Completed over the summer break.

BATH EMPIRE, ATTLEBOROUGH HOUSE, NUNEATON WAREHOUSE

Nuneaton

Refurbishment and reconfiguration of a previous clothing manufacturing warehouse to upgrade it to a storage and distribution warehouse for bathroom and sanitary wares. Programmed as a phased handover, with the first phase (6,000 m2) completed in 7 weeks.

ABBEY MILLS, ALCESTER, WARWICKSHIRE

Works comprised of roof & wall cladding repairs, roller shutter installation, internal re-spraying works, refurbishment and reconfiguration of the production area and staff office areas, full staff kitchen and toilet fit-out, installation of a new VRF air-conditioning system and major lighting and electrical distribution upgrades. Completed on time and within budget despite extensive damage from a break-in.

UNIT N, KEY INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

Wolverhampton

210m2 extension to an existing factory unit. Responsible for the design of the steel frame, cladding and curtain walling. Also included extending the external yard area and construction of a retaining wall. Site was in constant use during the project.

BILTON INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, COVENTRY

Coventry

Extensive refurbishment and extension of an existing industrial unit. The building was stripped back to the structural steel frame, and a new building envelope, floors, offices, toilets and external works were completed to provide 2 new 7000 sq ft units.

COX GREEN COTTAGE, ENVILLE, STOURBRIDGE

Enville, Stourbridge

Major refurbishment works on an 18th Century cottage. Original elements were retained where possible, with renewed elements of a similar or facsimile nature. Included underfloor heating, upgraded cavity walls, new electrics, and a complete reconfiguration of the interior, including kitchen and bathroom fit-out.

ENVILLE MEWS, OFFICE FIT-OUT

Divided into an internal and external fit-out. External envelope repairs included roof structure repairs, roof recovering with high-level lead work, reconstruction of failing parapets, repairs to the central lantern and supporting structure, and window repairs. The internal space was refurbished into a modern office fit-out, including upgrading the heating system to incorporate underfloor heating and a heat pump. Existing features were preserved.
