North Place

Stockport

Principal contractor on a complex redevelopment project involving a full commercial to residential conversion alongside a rooftop extension to create a high-quality 5-bedroom HMO. The scheme involved the transformation of existing commercial office space into four self-contained apartments, complemented by a newly constructed steel frame rooftop extension with a timber infill structure, forming an additional 5-bed HMO unit. This required extensive structural alterations to the existing building, carefully managed to ensure structural integrity while maximising the development potential of the site. Externally, the project features Colourcoat cladding and high-performance aluminium window systems, providing a modern, durable finish in keeping with contemporary residential standards. Internally, MAP delivered a full fit-out across all units, including kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, and all associated joinery and M&E installations. The works also included significant upgrades to mains services and infrastructure, ensuring the development meets current building regulations and performance requirements.

Nazarene College | Rear Extension | Building Contractors Didsbury

Didsbury, Manchester

Rear extension to provide additional accommodation for the college's food hall facilities. The project involved the construction of a new extension to the rear of the existing college building, alongside internal remodelling and upgrade works to improve the functionality of the surrounding areas. The works were carried out within a live education environment, requiring careful planning, controlled site access and close coordination around the day-to-day operation of the college. The construction works included foundation excavation, installation of an insulated concrete slab, blockwork, external brickwork and a timber cladding finish. A green roof was also incorporated into the scheme, providing a considered and sustainable finish to the new extension. MAP also carried out structural alterations to the existing building to accommodate the new layout and connection between the new and existing spaces. The internal works included electrical installation, plumbing installations, remodelling and installation of new toilets, decorations and final fit-out.

Wrigley Mill - Church Conversion & Full Internal Fit-Out

Diggle, Oldham

Full conversion of a redundant Methodist building into a high-quality commercial facility, providing an early years nursery and first floor community space. MAP Building Contractors acted as principal contractor, managing the structural works, internal alterations, service installations, fit-out and external refurbishment works. The scheme required extensive structural remediation and alteration works. The existing ground floor timber joists were found to be severely deteriorated and were fully replaced, while the first floor structure was strengthened throughout to suit the new use of the building. A cantilevered floor structure was also formed to create a new staff room and kitchen area, helping to maximise usable space within the existing building footprint. Further structural alterations were carried out to form new door openings, additional windows and a revised internal layout suitable for the nursery's operational requirements. Externally, the building underwent a full façade upgrade, including sandblasting of the existing stonework and the installation of new aluminium windows and doors. Internally, MAP delivered a complete fit-out including a full rewire, new plumbing systems, safety flooring, suspended ceilings, decorations and the installation of kitchen and bathroom facilities. The first floor community space was further improved through the installation of Velux rooflights, introducing natural light and improving the usability of the area. The external areas were also refurbished to create a safe and functional outdoor environment for children, supporting the early years use of the building.
