Helical staircase balustrading and circular staircase gallery balustrading and floor and ceiling mounted space dividers in JDL Amron PVD Architectural Mesh IPZ-56 in Champagne with solid framing also in PVD coloured stainless steel in Champagne. Fit out of one and a half floors on the 16th and 17th floors. The light gold coloration of the Champagne PVD Architectural mesh was selected to provide an unusual and uplifting element to a standard office palette of black, burnt orange and midnight blue. The simple, lateral geometric design of the mesh provides a counterpoint to the curving downward sweep of the stairs.

Exterior cladding panels to lift shaft in Amron Rigid Woven Architectural mesh M22-28 and I-188 in Antique Bronze. Alternating gauges of double-layered mesh are used as infill to the exterior layer of cladding of the lift shaft which comprises assorted sizes of square and rectangular frames. The mesh creates the outer skin to the distressed, blackened stainless steel interior cladding and elevator doors. The antique bronze finishing creates an elevator redolent of steampunk design and contrasts with the organic, flowing stalk staircase to which it is adjacent.

Lift shaft clad in Amron Architectural Mesh LPZ-71 in Antique Brass fixed within Bronze PVD panel frames. Upgrade of communal areas, stairs and lift. The small geometric design of this mesh was also redolent of textile designs of the era. The mesh was set into frames of vertical and horizontal bars with the horizontals being broader than the verticals, again paying tribute to art deco proportions.

Laser-cut, V-grooved and folded PVD coloured stainless steel forming interior cladding around lift shaft. This interior lift shaft cladding and stair balustrading combines three finishes and treatments to create a multi-layered and faceted cladding. The intricate and subtle pattern and surface changes with different light and angles, creating an unforgettable centrepiece to the building.

Brise Soleil, tapered column and canopy in Chocolate PVD stainless steel V-Grooved and folded to appear as solid bronze. PVD coloured textured stainless steel was used as the cladding material which was V-grooved and folded to give sharp outlines to the column and brise soleil fins. The brise soleil fins were formed from timber and clad with the textured PVD stainless steel to create a relatively lightweight solution.

Staircase in blackened stainless steel with over-wax finish for Google headquarters. The decision to use blackened stainless steel was a departure from specifying a more shiny, corporate-looking material and Double Stone Steel Europe Ltd worked with the designers to create the exact "blackness" required to create this dramatic staircase. As part of Google's Biophilic approach to its office design its architects wanted a finish that develops a patina and ages and changes with time, not a fixed appearance that would result from using a synthetic polymer-based sealant.
