IAW were appointed to carry out full structural engineering service on this new 6 units 4 storey apartment block. The building comprised steelwork superstructure with composite slabs, and piled foundation with RC ground beams substructure. The design encountered various challenges due to staggered structural arrangement, boundary condition and complex ground geology.
IAW were appointed to carry out full structural engineering service on this new build housing development comprising 3 no. detached dwellings. The superstructure comprised a combination of steelwork and load bearing masonry, and traditional concrete substructure. and It was an architecturally challenging scheme together with complex ground condition. The site is located on a 2.5m deep fill material with varying topography. The houses were set out at the boundary at lower level, resulting in the introduction of RC retaining walls.
