Greenland Energy Services Ltd was established in 2012 with a mission to reduce carbon footprints and undertake retrofit work in the housing sector, largely through various grant funding schemes. The company has assisted numerous households in obtaining insulation, heating, and boiler upgrades at no cost to the homeowner. They primarily operate under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) grants, a government-backed initiative funded by major energy companies to meet carbon emission targets.

These grants are directed towards individuals on medium or low incomes. Services include fully funded boiler and central heating installations for homes with existing gas connections but no boiler, replacement of old non-condensing boilers with new rated boilers, and the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps for properties without gas. They also offer cavity wall insulation, smart electric storage heaters, internal and external wall insulation, loft insulation, room in roof insulation, underfloor insulation, and smart thermostats.

Greenland Energy guides eligible individuals through the application process for these grants, offering free surveys to assess eligibility. They also provide information on alternative criteria, including LA flex criteria for those not receiving specific benefits but with a gross household income below £31,000, and criteria for vulnerable individuals identified by a GP.
