G Hicks and Sons started work on a 6 month project to transform our house, building a new extension and changing internal walls and doors. Throughout the project communication was excellent with Steve ensuring that we, the architect and all the subcontractors knew exactly what was happening and when. Steve, his builders and the sub-contractors that he employed were extremely considerate and made sure disruption to our day-to-day lives was as minimal as possible. With 3 small children this was important to us, and the kids still ask after their favourite builders! We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the firm to anyone and are absolutely delighted with the finished product.

We moved into our house a year ago knowing that the property would require extensive rebuilding and repairs to turn it into the house of our dreams and a family home that would work for us. We knew that choosing the building contractor would probably be the single most important decision we had to get right and we did just that. I appointed Steve in early February with the promise that work would start in the first week of August and it did on the exact day Steve stated it would. 6 months later the team left us with what was our dream family house. In what was a large project which had to overcome some shoddy previous building work and make extensive structural changes. From a new roof to changing nearly every room and rebuilding the back of the house, fitting kitchens, bathrooms, new electrics etc. All work was done to the highest standard of work and any problems were overcome quickly and Steve kept us informed all the way through the project. His planning was great. We moved out during the major parts of the work and had no hesitation in Steve and the team looking after our property which they did with no issues. Whilst we still lived there the team were considerate at all times of us and were great with our two young children. As I mentioned the most important part of any building work is getting the right builder, with George Hicks and Sons you will. I am happy to give any references or would be willing if required to show anyone the work the team did.

We're very pleased we chose George Hicks & Sons for our garage conversion. The work started on time and finished ahead of schedule.
