Gate Safe

Gate Safe is a registered charity established in 2010 with the primary mission to prevent accidents, including fatalities, caused by unsafe automated and manual gates or barriers. The organisation is widely acknowledged as the leading expert on best practice for automated gate safety. Gate Safe focuses on delivering specialist, independently approved training to equip installers with the knowledge to ensure safe and compliant gate installations.

They also provide unbiased, independent assessments through survey activities, offer specialist technical support, and work to raise awareness and educate on the importance of automated gate and barrier safety. The Gate Safe team possesses a combined experience of over 100 years in the gate industry. Key members include Tammy, who oversees strategic development and daily operations, Carla, responsible for PR and driving awareness, and Rob, who brings extensive practical knowledge from 15 years in gate automation and delivers training and site surveys.

John, a former president of IOSH, also delivers Gate Safe training as a highly experienced trainer. The charity was founded following the tragic death of Karolina Golabek, and Madeleine, a Patron, has been a strong supporter since its inception. The charity provides a national register of trained installers, connecting customers with appropriately trained professionals.

They offer practical step-by-step guidance and advice on the selection, installation, and maintenance of safe and compliant gates and barriers. Gate Safe also provides help and advice to installers, gate users/owners, and all professionals associated with automated gates and barriers. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) supports Gate Safe's work in improving gate safety and commends their commitment to providing clear, practical information on safe and legally compliant gates.
