Galtec Limited was formed in May 1988 by brothers Tony and Terry Galvin. The company grew significantly when Tony joined Terry full-time in 1993, moving from initial home-based operations to rented office space. Despite an economic recession in the early 1990s, Galtec expanded its client base through successful relationships with national house builders.

Further growth in the 1990s led to the acquisition of more plant, machinery, and vehicles, necessitating a move to larger premises. An opportunity arose to acquire a larger office space with a yard, workshop, and land on Bentham Lane in Witcombe, Gloucestershire, providing excellent access to major transport routes. The company emphasizes continuous investment in new technology, particularly Trimble GPS technology for its excavator fleet, enabling more accurate and efficient work.

Galtec maintains its own plant and equipment through an in-house workshop, ensuring high standards of maintenance. The company's vision, reflecting the founders' values, is to be a stable and successful company based on family values, natural progression, and a happy workforce.
