About from company website

CB Heating, now trading as EDF Heat Pumps, was founded in 1999 by Clayton Browne, an apprentice-trained plumber who recognized the potential of renewable energy early on. He installed his first air source heat pump system in 2000, paired with underfloor heating in a barn conversion, marking the beginning of the company's journey into becoming a leading heat pump specialist. In 2024, CB Heating was acquired by EDF and rebranded as EDF Heat Pumps, becoming a wholly owned part of Britain's largest generator of zero-carbon electricity.

This integration allows the company to offer a comprehensive low-carbon home solution, working alongside other EDF companies specializing in EV charging and solar panels. Based on the Essex coast, EDF Heat Pumps operates an industry-leading HPIN Training Academy dedicated to training installers for the renewable heating sector. The company prides itself on leading the charge towards sustainable heating, installing thousands of heat pumps across the UK and contributing to the industry's installation quality and training standards.
