Richard Western Trailers has expanded its renewable energy setup with a new 302 kWp rooftop solar system and 200 kWh battery, installed as part of a wider upgrade to one of its manufacturing buildings. The project builds on the 150 kWp array East Green Energy delivered five years ago, and now provides the site with far greater control over how and when electricity is used. With 665 high‑efficiency panels generating around 286.75 MWh a year and a battery designed to store surplus power for use during peak demand, the system is expected to meet roughly 40% of the site's annual electricity needs while cutting carbon emissions by around 55 tonnes each year.
East Green Energy has completed a major solar expansion at Rushcliffe Arena, installing 1,038 panels delivering 477 kWp and now supplying around 27% of the centre's energy while cutting 75 tonnes of carbon each year.
We've completed the first scheduled clean of the Suffolk Fresh floating solar array with our sister company Clearsol. After four months in operation, the 1,250 panels are performing strongly, supplying around 20% of the site's annual energy demand with 96% used on site. A smooth two‑day clean thanks to permanent access and Clearsol's robotic system.
This timelapse shows three iwell battery units being craned into place at our client's poultry site in Diss, Norfolk. We recently installed a 1,020‑panel, 464.1 kWp solar system, and the new 700kWh battery setup takes the whole system up a level. It allows the site to store excess generation, cut peak‑time grid use, smooth out demand across the sheds and keep energy costs predictable even on high‑load days.
Peddars Milling Limited is installing a 380 kWp rooftop solar system at its Norfolk site to power milling operations, cut energy costs, and reduce reliance on the grid. The system is expected to generate up to 270,000 kWh annually, saving around 60-70 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
Camgrain, a leading grain storage and handling cooperative, operates a site with high energy demand. Power is required across its large-scale facilities for processing, storage, and logistics. Rising energy costs and the need to reduce carbon emissions prompted Camgrain to explore renewable energy solutions that could deliver long-term savings and environmental benefits.
G R Wright & Sons Ltd, based in Harlow, Essex, is one of the UK's leading flour millers and ingredient blenders. With a heritage spanning generations, Wrights has always combined tradition with innovation. Today, sustainability sits at the core of its operations, guiding every investment and initiative.
In November 2025, a 750 kWp floating solar farm was installed in Great Blakenham, near Ipswich, Suffolk, delivering clean energy through 1,250 solar panels spanning 3,500 m² of water. Partnering with Suffolk Fresh, the project supplies around 20% of the power for the UK's first semi‑closed hydroponic glasshouse, showcasing how renewable energy and sustainable agriculture can thrive together in East Anglia.
