An unstable boundary wall led to some urgent works at this industrial engineering site. DTM Groundworks Ltd were employed to first of all carefully remove the 100 year old original engineering brick wall and make the site safe. A new concrete foundation was then installed below the existing road level. DTM Groundworks Ltd then constructed a new interlocking concrete 'Lego' block retaining wall. Once installed the wall was backfilled, landscaping works carried out and a new powder coated 868 twin-wire mesh fence was installed to the top of the wall to secure the site. The work was completed within a few weeks with the site remaining open and secure throughout the works.
Client · Allspeeds Ltd
Design and installation of a base and disable access ramps for an external smoking shelter. The works involved earthworks, hardcore fill, installation of formwork and in-situ concrete hardstandings.
Client · Heatmiser UK Ltd
Rochdale
Installation a new in-situ concrete retaining wall including bulk excavation works, foundations and backfilling to levels. This was carried out on a tight residential site and provided the client additional off-road parking from which electric car charging could be carried out away from the public highway.
Salford
Installation a new surface-water drainage system to the forecourt of this busy vehicle maintenance workshop. The work was carried out during working hours whilst the facility was open to the public. Working closely with the team on-site and carrying out the works in sections, protected by safety barriers and road plates minimised both cost and disruption for the client.

Fallowfield
Installation of ACO-style linear drainage channels, new foul-drainage to service new toilet facilities plus kerbing and paving works to this busy tyre and maintenance workshop. Careful planning and sequencing of the works allowed the facility to remain open to the public.

Construction of a new Stake Centre includes comprehensive tanking and reinforced in-situ concrete foundations and retaining walls. A collapsed stone river wall at Sudden Brook led to this commercial plot becoming an unusable and unsafe site. DTM Groundworks Ltd were employed to first of all remove the remnants of the 100-plus year old original wall and make the site safe. A cofferdam was then created to form a dry work area to enable a new concrete foundation to be installed below the water level. DTM Groundworks Ltd then constructed a new interlocking concrete block retaining wall. The difference in levels between the river and site meant this new retaining wall had to be 5.5m high. The installation of a Tensar geogrid tied the new concrete 'Lego' block style wall into the 6F2 stone backfill material. A new powder coated 868 mesh fence was installed to the top of the new river wall on completion. This represented a challenging project carried out in a live river. The site was up and running within a matter of weeks.

Installation of a lift pit in the basement of the former HMV store on Market Street, Manchester. No access for mechanical plant along with the city centre location led to a logistically challenging project but successful project.
