Included reroofing the main house in Hardraw artificial stone tiles and two substantial outbuildings in traditional Yorkshire stone slates and Greys Artstone slates respectively, repairing or replacing timber supports, gutters and downpipes as necessary. The project also involved tanking, drylining, plastering, reflooring, repointing, demolition of redundant outbuildings and partition walls, erection of new partition walls, creation of new door and window openings, rewiring, replumbing, redecoration and a host of other jobs, the whole taking over a year at a cost of several hundred thousand pounds and all in accordance with the requirements of listed building consents and planning permissions from the Yorkshire Dales National Parks Authority.
