The proposed building is a two-storey structure with an additional loft space. The structural system comprises a reinforced concrete strip footing foundation, supporting a beam and block ground floor. The first floor and loft levels are formed using timber floor joists, spanning between the steel frame members and external walls. The timber floors are designed to provide a lightweight, efficient structure while maintaining flexibility in layout. The roof structure is also timber, supported by the steel frame and cavity wall construction, ensuring stability and allowing for the inclusion of the loft accommodation. The roof covering will be specified to suit the architectural design (e.g., tiles or slates) with appropriate insulation and ventilation.
