Bywaters is London's leading sustainable waste management company, with services extending across the whole of the UK. We provide safe, secure and efficient waste and recycling solutions, helping various industries to better manage their waste. As well as sending zero waste to landfill, we work closely with every client to increase their recycling rates and improve sustainability through both plastic and carbon reduction. Bywaters is more than just a recycling company.

Our waste management services are founded on our commitment to improving the environment, while our Green Team works in partnership with clients to provide sustainability consultancy. We are always enhancing our waste management operations to reduce our own carbon footprint, whether that's by adding more electric vehicles to our waste collection fleet or installing 4,000 solar panels to power our facility in Bow. Bywaters started life long before being incorporated as a limited company in 1952.

It all started at the end of the First World War with one man operating from a horse and cart in North London. Over time the business developed from this small-scale operation, eventually becoming one of London's most well-established waste management companies, with a long-standing commitment to sustainability. Today, Bywaters is still family-owned, serving thousands of businesses across the UK. The heart of our operations is our state-of-the-art solar-powered materials recovery facility in Bow, East London.

This facility processes and sorts hundreds of thousands of tonnes of waste a year for recycling, diverting waste from landfills and making London more sustainable. Bywaters also has another East London facility on Gateway Road, which specialises in sorting construction waste for recycling and accepts small one-off tipping.
