William Briggs established his own roofing company in Arbroath in 1865, founding an asphalt works and becoming an agent for the Limmer and Trinidad Lake Asphalt Company. Today, BriggsAmasco is part of the international IKO group, a global leader in waterproofing with manufacturing plants across Europe and North America.

Regeneration of London's landmark Battersea Power Station, involving the creation of residential apartments, retail outlets, an events venue, and office space. BriggsAmasco delivered a multiple-application waterproofing programme, including safeguarding the main energy centre's belowground service equipment with an IKO Permatec system and a 40mm-thick Road Specification IKO Permapark mastic asphalt system. They also re-waterproofed the Grade II-listed chimneys using IKO Permaphalt and devised a super-slim PIR/VIP panel for terrace waterproofing. Additional features included sun tubes for natural daylight and sedum green roofs. The project involved up to 50 operatives and 45,000m2 of waterproofing and insulation.
