Braidwater has a rich history in construction, dating back to 1989 when it was named after a project at the Braidwater mill. Early developments in Belfast included Hermitage Park and Malone Meadows, followed by significant work for the University of Ulster, building student accommodation across multiple campuses. In Derry, Braidwater was involved in notable projects such as Sainsbury's and the revitalization of the quay walkway, including a cinema and multi-storey car park at Quayside Shopping Centre. In the late 1990s, Braidwater collaborated with Farrans and Graham Construction as the Northwin Consortium, delivering key projects like Balmoral High School and Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education. In 2019, Braidwater merged with its sister company BW Homes & Construction to form Braidwater Group, comprising Braidwater Homes and BW (Social Affordable Housing), continuing their established divisional structures.
