BD Pinkney & Co, also known as Pinkneys, holds the distinction of being the United Kingdom's longest-established scaffolding refurbishment company. The business began in 1970 when Bill Pinkney, with a background in mechanical engineering and industrial scaffolding, designed and built the original Scaffolding Tube Reeler Straightening Machine. He launched the first mobile tube straightening service with four units covering the UK.
In 1986, his son Giles joined the company and expanded its services to include Kwikstage repairs. Initially operating on a mobile basis, the scope was limited. However, in 1991, Giles established a centre in Manchester, enabling the complete refurbishment process-shot blasting, inspection, repair, and painting-to be handled in-house.
To better serve their predominantly Scottish customer base, the business relocated to Glasgow in 1997, where it continues to operate and values the custom of Scotland's largest scaffolding companies. Pinkneys is committed to providing a personal, hands-on, and highly dedicated approach to achieving excellence in scaffolding refurbishment, repairs, and shot blasting. Their services encompass the full refurbishment of Kwikstage, Steelstage, Scaffold Fittings, Formwork, Kwikguard, Loading Bay Gates, and all non-mechanical plant.
