Roof restoration Blake Hall. Ongar

Ongar

The roof was restored in three phases, East wing 2010 , Central wing 2011, and the photo's show the West wing 2012. The existing slates were exceptionally poor so were completely replaced with best quality Chinese slates which carry a 100 year warranty. The lead used was code 6,7, and 8 sand cast lead sheet made by C.E.L Leadworks of Peterborough. All the lead gutters were re-designed to discharge to new outlets to the rear of the building. In the autum of 2014 we will return for the final stage of the restoration to cover the corbels and parapet walls with sand cast lead.

New orangery lead roof and gutters

New orangery the lead work involved using code 5 milled lead sheet fitted to stepped gutters and welted parapet covers.

Sloping lead roof and gutters on new link/extension

Link / extension to create a new kitchen and hallway / cloaks and porch the lead used was code 6 milled lead sheet fixed on geotextile underlay on a sloping ply wood roof with lead roll joints.

Restoration of the tiling to the Chancel roof at Barham Church, using a mixture of fish scale, bull nose and plain tiles. Replacement tiles were hand cut to match the existing tiles.
