Horsham, West Sussex, 2025 - Fitted Walk-in Wardrobe

Horsham, West Sussex, 2025 - Fitted Walk-in Wardrobe

Horsham, West Sussex

This bespoke fitted wardrobe project in Horsham was completed as part of a wider scheme for a returning client. The brief was to create a walk-in wardrobe that maximised storage while responding carefully to the shape and proportions of the room. Designed wall to wall and floor to ceiling, the fitted wardrobe follows the natural lines of the space, turning what could have been an awkward layout into a calm, balanced design. With ceiling heights of over three metres, the scale of the units allowed for generous storage while maintaining a refined, uncluttered appearance. Integrated lighting within the open sections highlights key storage areas and adds a subtle sense of luxury. The colour finish was carefully matched to the client's bathtub in the adjoining en-suite, creating a seamless visual connection between the spaces. A bespoke dressing table was built beneath the window, with pull-out shoe storage integrated into more challenging corner areas to ensure no space was wasted. This project shows how we guide our clients to create bespoke fitted wardrobes that feel considered, elegant, and tailored to the way they live.

Early 2024, Tonbridge - Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes

Tonbridge

For this lovely returning customer, we previously created a study and laundry cabinet and were asked to design fitted wardrobes for their loft and master bedroom. We designed a bespoke wardrobe with a dressing room area for added functionality. A custom slatted oak panel was added to the large opening, creating a stylish, open feel without compromising space. The shaker-style drawers with elegant beading and oak internals provide both sophistication and practical, floor-to-ceiling storage. Integrated LED lighting in the plinths adds a soft glow, easily controlled by the main switch. The soft blue and oak colour palette complements the space, making this wardrobe both functional and beautiful. This project is a perfect example of the quality and craftsmanship that Baobab Carpentry is known for. Whether you're looking for Bedroom Fitted Wardrobes or a made-to-measure wardrobe, we can bring your vision to life.

Tunbridge Wells, 2024 - Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes and Dressing Room

Tunbridge Wells, 2024 - Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes and Dressing Room

Tunbridge Wells

At Baobab Carpentry, we specialise in bespoke handmade wardrobes and custom carpentry. One recent project involved updating a dressing room in a mansion-style home. The clients wanted to replace open shelving with fitted wardrobes that matched the existing cabinetry. We crafted custom doors to close off the shelving, blending seamlessly with the original design. The result was a flawless integration of old and new, demonstrating how made-to-measure wardrobes can enhance both functionality and style. Additionally, we designed and built a custom island for the dressing room, creating a luxurious and highly functional space that exceeded the client's expectations. The clients were so impressed with the quality of our built-in wardrobes and cabinetry and remarked that they could not tell the old and new apart!

This made-to-measure wardrobe project involved designing a full wall of floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes in a period property. The challenge? A shallow chimney breast in the centre of the wall that the client didn't want to interrupt the clean, flush look. We designed a clever solution: deep built-in wardrobes with hanging space and drawers on either side, and shallower shelving across the chimney breast - creating a seamless wall of storage without breaking up the line. The wardrobe design features classic shaker-style doors with elegant moulding, finished with knurled antique brass handles. Inside, oak internals add warmth and contrast, with dedicated hanging space and practical shelving. This bespoke wardrobe installation is a perfect example of how fitted wardrobe solutions can be both beautiful and functional - especially when tailored to tricky architectural details. It blends style with smart storage, making the most of every inch of space. For anyone searching for bedroom fitted wardrobes, built-in wardrobes, or made-to-measure wardrobes, this project showcases what's possible with thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship.

Bidborough, 2024 - Fitted Shallow Depth Wardrobes

Bidborough, 2024 - Fitted Shallow Depth Wardrobes

Bidborough

In this recent bespoke wardrobe design, we created a fitted wardrobe for a reduced-depth alcove that couldn't accommodate a full-depth unit. The space simply wasn't suitable for traditional built-in wardrobes, and placing a wardrobe that jutted too far into the room wasn't an option due to the room's shape. The clients wanted hanging space and shelving without compromising the room's flow. To achieve this, we designed a made-to-measure wardrobe with pull-out hanging rails, allowing the depth to be reduced while still offering ample storage. This solution worked perfectly, maximising space without taking away from the room's overall layout. The wardrobe features 2.4m high doors with large brass handles, creating a sophisticated and elegant look that fits seamlessly into the room. The clients were absolutely thrilled with the result, delighted by the functionality and beauty of their new Bedroom Fitted Wardrobes.

Rusthall, 2024 - Fitted Bedroom Furniture & Bunk Beds

Rusthall, 2024 - Fitted Bedroom Furniture & Bunk Beds

Rusthall

For this little girl's bedroom, we created a stunning built-in bedroom storage solution that blends beautifully with the space while offering ample storage. The fitted wardrobe features bespoke doors with rattan-effect detailing, cleverly tucked into the alcove. When the doors open, it reveals a mini walk-in wardrobe complete with hanging rails, floating shelves, and a drawer, making it both practical and stylish. To optimise space, we designed bespoke bunk beds with full-depth push-to-open drawers underneath, offering fantastic storage for toys, books, and knick-knacks. On the far right, we added an open shelf unit with a cupboard at the bottom, ensuring everything has its place. By taking up just one wall, we created significant storage while leaving plenty of room for play, fulfilling the family's vision of a practical yet beautiful space. Painted in a timeless blush pink, this room will grow with the child, lasting well into her teenage years. The clients were so pleased with the results that they asked us to complete three more projects for them!

Brenchley, 2025 - Bespoke Kitchen - Kent

Brenchley, 2025 - Bespoke Kitchen - Kent

Brenchley, Kent

This bespoke kitchen project in Brenchley reflects our approach to custom kitchens, where layout, scale, and everyday use are carefully considered from the outset. The design centres around a striking oversized island, positioned as the focal point of the space and providing generous preparation, seating, and storage. The kitchen integrates a full suite of appliances, including, Miele appliances, a Liebherr fridge, and a handmade Lacanche oven crafted in France. Accommodating this level of functionality within the kitchen required precise planning to maintain balance, flow, and a calm, feel in line with modern kitchen design principles. A key feature of this handmade kitchen is the concealed access to the utility room. One tall unit appears as standard cabinetry but functions as a hidden full-height door, allowing the main run of cabinetry to remain visually uninterrupted. Slide-and-hide doors within the utility ensure no space is lost to door swings. The kitchen also includes extensive bespoke cabinetry, custom banquette seating with lift-up storage, and a bespoke dresser, all handmade and fitted by us with a focus on intelligent storage and long-term use. This project reflects our approach to bespoke kitchens: thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and solutions built around the way our clients live.

Borough Green, 2025 - Handmade Kitchen - Kent

Borough Green, 2025 - Handmade Kitchen - Kent

Borough Green, Kent

This bespoke kitchen project in Borough Green combines classic shaker detailing with a refined, contemporary layout. The brief brought together curved shaker doors, beaded face frames, and layered detailing, all balanced to create a calm, cohesive space. Curved cabinetry plays a central role in the design. Producing curved shaker doors with beaded face frames requires careful planning and precision, resulting in a kitchen that feels fluid, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted. Subtle detailing around the door frames adds depth without overwhelming the overall scheme. The layout includes an American-style fridge freezer with integrated storage above, a bespoke larder unit with internal lighting, and fluted glass cabinets either side, introducing texture while keeping the design light and elegant. Oak interiors add warmth against the soft grey cabinetry. A matching utility room was designed as an extension of the kitchen, functioning as a practical boot room with bench seating and generous storage. This project shows how we guide our clients to create bespoke kitchens that balance technical craftsmanship, elegant detailing, and everyday practicality.

In our recent luxury kitchen project, we truly savoured creating the exquisite symmetry that defines the entire space. Everything in this kitchen is meticulously aligned. From the left and right-hand sides of the island to the centralised cooker, every element exudes harmony and balance. The bold color palette, featuring rich, darker woods and sleek blacks paired with antique brass accents, elevated the design to a level of timeless sophistication. The clever use of lighting inside the cupboards added a touch of magic, illuminating the details within. We also integrated a built-in bar cupboard complete with a wine rack and a mirrored splashback, adding a touch of opulence to the space. With a larder and integrated fridges, this luxury kitchen is a symphony of style and functionality, where every detail harmonises beautifully.

Wadhurst, 2024 - Bespoke Kitchen

Wadhurst

This luxury kitchen project was completed just before Christmas, so the family could enjoy their first Christmas dinner in their beautiful new space. A real labour of love, it was a true collaboration with a client who brought great vision - and a passion for interiors, as she's launching her own interior design business. She came to us with inspirational images and a rough layout. We worked closely together to develop and refine the design, producing detailed renders of the bespoke kitchen for her sign-off. The end result? A custom kitchen that perfectly reflects her style and needs. Characterful shaker kitchen doors, v-groove back panelling, and an stone-topped island table serve as standout features. The island in particular brings a unique twist-both functional and full of charm. This handmade kitchen combines classic details with modern kitchen design principles. It's a great example of what can be achieved when a skilled cabinet maker works hand-in-hand with a client to create tailored, bespoke kitchens. The client couldn't be happier, and we couldn't be prouder.

Sevenoaks, 2024 - Modern Kitchen Design

Sevenoaks, 2024 - Modern Kitchen Design

Sevenoaks

This project was for an existing client who had previously worked with us for bespoke wardrobes. They were looking for a luxury kitchen with a sleek, modern design, so we created a custom kitchen featuring flat-fronted units that were handmade and spray-finished for a handless look. To maximise the space, we incorporated all their appliances seamlessly and designed pull-out corner units for better storage. A central peninsula was added, along with worktops made from compact laminate, which we were able to craft entirely in-house instead of using quartz. The kitchen had a contemporary yet functional feel, with a touch of sophistication. With modern elegant accents, the design blended style and practicality perfectly. The clients were thrilled to see their vision for their modern kitchen design come to life, and we were pleased to deliver a space at the heart of their home that exceeded their expectations.
