The origins of AshtonAbraham began in the late 20th century, as countries around the world began setting targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the modern clean-energy transition took shape. Erik Abraham started his career in the Danish wind industry, gaining international experience and co-founding a Danish wind company in 2008 focused on developing, acquiring, and operating wind turbines. Expanding into the UK market, Erik met Charles and Mark Ashton, who were developing small-scale wind projects.

This collaboration led to the formation of a new Scottish wind business, which grew to a portfolio of over 1 gigawatt of wind capacity under development. In 2021, Erik and his partner sold the Danish company, and two years later, Mark, Charles, and Erik formally established AshtonAbraham, uniting their entrepreneurial experience. Today, AshtonAbraham builds on decades of hands-on experience, international collaboration, and a shared commitment to accelerating the new wind business.
