Established in 1999, Armstrong Taylor Ltd. provide structural and civil engineering consultancy services from our office based in Hillsborough, Co. Down.

We have been providing an innovative approach to solving structural design challenges for over 20 years and continue to work with a number of clients whose businesses have expanded alongside our own. The Directors, Roy Armstrong and Peter Thompson have been working together within the local industry for many years, and the strong relationships developed with clients, architects, consultants and contractors has ensured the continued growth and success of the business. We believe that working as a collaborative design team obtains the best results for our clients and this inclusive approach to design continues in-house, with directors, designers and technical staff encouraged to provide valuable input to projects as the most appropriate design solution is developed.

This ensures we maintain the quality of our final product which satisfies the design brief without structural excess. Our team includes experienced chartered engineers and technical staff who are well resourced with advanced 3D design and modelling software, partnered with Autodesk drawing and detailing packages. We are employed across the broad spectrum of sectors within our industry throughout Ireland and the UK, and have completed numerous projects including multiple occupancy developments & shopping centres, independent retail schemes, private healthcare & nursing homes, manufacturing & production facilities, apartment & residential developments as well as bespoke residences and unique projects.

Our experience encompasses the design of all types of structures utilising common structural materials including structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry. Civils works completed have included retaining structures, road realignments, culverts and drainage design.
